Remodelling works to a detached 1930s house to create supported living accommodation for 6 physically disabled residents. The brief required that residents be supported to live as independent a life as possible in a high quality and non institutional house. Designed to Habinteg standards, the layout gives plenty of space for the residents to socialise together.  Reorganisation has allowed a generous, naturally lit and straightforward circulation route throughout the house with a lift to the first floor.  All the bedrooms have ensuite, wheelchair accessible bathrooms, half with a hoist.  Bedrooms all have a view and vary in size and orientation. The shared living spaces look out over the garden and can be divided for different activities or opened up into one space for parties.  The garden will be relandscaped and made wheelchair accessible with ramped access, paved terraces and covered seating areas and raised planting beds.
