Design of a new teaching building for Thrive in Battersea Park, London. Thrive is a charity offering horticultural therapy and life skills training to people with a wide range of disabilities and health issues including autism, learning disabilities, mental health problems, stroke recovery and dementia. The building was designed to meet the multiple needs of this very disadvantaged user group, be very sustainable and create a new visual identity for the charity in the park.  Features of the design include a simple, direct layout with linkable teaching spaces, open access between the building and the garden, abundant natural light and views, natural ventilation and plain, unpatterned and natural materials.  A small garden kiosk for the sale of plants grown in the gardens was constructed as a second project and brings social enterprise training to the site.
