Day Centre for Homeless Families, Press House, Neasden The multifunctional space created by this project provides facilities for homeless families in Brent, including those living in the building, which provides temporary accommodation, largely to asylum seekers. Pedder & Scampton created light, warm and welcoming spaces that include rooms for advice and advocacy, primary medical care and classes in English, computing and other subjects as well as cooking and laundry facilities and a creche. A community garden, designed in consultation with the various user groups, includes planting to attract and encourage wildlife habitats, and separate social and play areas.

“Pedder & Scampton are sticklers for design integrity. Their high quality design solutions stem from the need to meet the client’s needs and aspirations.”
