Recycling sites, Haringey

Pilot scheme and roll out for landmark recycling sites within walking distance of local housing estates. The brief required a design that made a positive contribution to the street scene and encouraged recycling by being visually attractive and interesting as well as safe and easy to use. P&S designed a palette of components incorporating community artwork and information about recycling. Recycled materials have been used wherever possible, both as a demonstration of good practice and to encourage the idea that waste materials can have a new life. These elements have a clear identity that links all the sites in the Borough.
