Pedder & Scampton was invited to join a sizeable multi disciplinary design team working on a large housing development site near Waterloo. The site is largely key worker and private housing, and the brief included a requirement for a Ronald McDonald House to provide short term accommodation for families of children receiving care at Guys and St Thomas’s Children’s hospital. Pedder & Scampton designed this element of the development bid. The design created a peaceful ‘haven’ for the often distressed families, with a series of flowing, sunny spaces that give a clear identity to each different part of the building. Projected construction value £2.2m.
